Atuk ku, born and raised in Klang. Survived the second world war. He's a very disciplined man, so i've been told since he's been paralyzed since i was like, 2 ?
In 2006, my Acu Jan got married in Klang. My grandparents house. All of my cousins was there. It was chaotic, loads of fun. And i still remember the conversation my mother had with my atuk.
MamaAtuk
Bapak, sihat ?
Sihat
Ni budak budak ni semua duduk sini tak bising ke ?
Bising sangat
Hahah, bapak tak kisah?
Tak, seronok pun ada.
So nanti kalau diorang nak tidur sini lagi, boleh ?
Boleh, apa salahnya. Bapak pun lagi suka.
From this, i know that my atuk loves seeing his family being happy together. And that he really wants us to be like that again. Unfortunately, that was the last time we had a gathering like that when he's still alive. The latest one was yesterday. Everyone was there, the Singaporeans, the Penangs, Ipohs and of course the ones from Selangor. But it was just too late.
I believe it was in 2000 when he had a terrible accident. Causing him to have stroke. Slowly malfunctioning his body to move. It made him into this silent man. The complete opposite from the stories i've heard about him. A strong, charismatic, army-style
discipline kind of guy.
Now, he's gone. Hopefully he's placed among the ones pleased by Allah. InsyaAllah.
Till then, assalamualaikum.
